Have faith. It’s that simple.
“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”
– Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
As we celebrate the life and accomplishments of a man who provoked change, we also need to realize Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was indeed a man of faith.
You undoubtedly know him as a progressive Christian and a champion of the Civil Rights Movement. He was a man of vision, who wanted to see the nation holding hands together during a time of heavy racial tension.
And one of the biggest lessons we can take away from his work as an activist is that in order to see change in our lives, we just need faith. The same way he believed this nation would rise up to be better than what it was in the 1960’s is the same way you need to believe in yourself.
You have to believe that everything you ever wanted in life is already waiting for you. It’s just a matter of you going out and getting it.
It’s always a scary feeling going against yourself and chasing after your dreams because it’s not the norm for you. Dr. King and other Civil Rights activists went against the norm on because they had faith that they could create change. They knew God was directing their paths.
You may feel hesitant because you feel as though you’re not ready for the blessing you’re about to receive. But if you ever want to get unstuck and start living a fulfilling life, you have to step out on faith.
God’s grace will carry you with anything you put your mind to. This is why you have to cast your worries aside and know that what God has for you, is for you. Have a goal in mind you want to achieve and don’t allow fear to stop you.
You’ve seen your vision, you have a set plan, and now you just need to have faith that God has your back. Have peace of mind knowing that God’s grace is covering your every move.
