God Is Trying to Change You

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Often times we get into a rut, where we’re constantly crying out to God to change our circumstances.

We want Him to change our living situation, our place of employment, our salary, our level or degree of education, our relationships, etc.

What we never bother to ask is for God to change us.

We get so caught up with trying to be everyone else that we never try to align ourselves with what God is calling for us to be or where we’re supposed to be at in our lives.  Yet somehow, we become so fixated on what God has not done or changed for us.

In our eyes, God has us stuck at said dead-end job with no room for growth, or in a dead-end relationship where marriage is not even a topic of discussion, or still living at home with the parents trying to find a place we can call ours.

What we fail to realize is that sometimes God won’t change our circumstances because He’s trying to change our heart.

God will use your life problems and situations to direct you closer to Him, to correct your faults, to change you to become a better, righteous man or woman of God.

Whatever situation you may be in right now, whether that be with work, school, a relationship, or life in general, trust God like you never have before!

Here’s the point: God is at work in your life – even when He seems silent, even when you can’t recognize it, and even when you don’t understand it. But when you learn to be still and trust in Him, your path will align with what He wants for you.
